Hi there, Let me first tell you that I had the pleasure of being one of Cary's nurses for more than 15 years. I so wanted to go to his service, but unfortunately had to work and was unable to find someone to work for me. I heard what a beautiful service it was. You are right when you say that we became friends. You can't care for someone that long and just be a patient. Cary's laugh, smile and good spirit will live on in all of us. His humor is what made a lot of days fun. His dreams and goals were amazing also. He constantly amazed me in what he was able to accomplish. He really knew what was important to him and what wasn't. Keeping his bed low to ground, a hospital rule, wasn't. You see, you can see the tv better and your neck doesn't hurt when it is way high in the air. He assured he would never roll out of his bed, and he didn't! Thank you for sharing his website also. I would love when he would come in and share his latest adventure of photography. He'd bring his portfolio of photos and share the trip. As I look at them on the website, I can hear him explaining the "funny thing about that shoot." I'd often tell him that he just had a way of being in the right place at the right time. I was glad to hear that his invention was patent pending. He was so excited to show his prototype on one visit. He had it strapped to all different things, just checking it out. It was pretty funny. So I close by sending my thoughts and prayers to your family. Know that a little piece of Cary will live on in all of us. He will be missed, he already is. I know that someday I will meet up with him again and I am sure he'll have everything figured out and be ready to show me the ropes, keeping me laughing all the time. Until then, he will be in my heart. May time make losing Cary a little easier and may you find peace, Love, Terri Cimmarrusti RN 3 North |
