Tim McGraw’s song “Live Like You Were Dying” fit Cary’s lifestyle perfectly. Unlike the rest of us who think we are going to live into our sixties, seventies or longer, Cary knew that his life was going to be cut short and he needed to cram a lifetime into half that time. Armed with the knowledge that most of us do not have, he was torn between “doing the right thing” by society’s standards and “enjoying life to the fullest” without worrying about the future. We can only imagine that it must have been freeing, yet haunting at the same time.

Photography seemed to be a creative outlet that brought him great joy. His passion and talent produced many incredible pieces that inspire us to admire and appreciate the beauty the world has to offer.

One of the other beauties Cary recognized was the appreciation of true friendship. As we talk with his friends, it became even clearer that he was an amazing friend that will be truly missed. Can we all say that we live life to the fullest and actually are the friends we could be?

Cary’s passion for photography led to his desire to create a specialty item which would enable him to attach his camera nearly anywhere. Working with his father, he designed and fabricated the world’s first TiePod, which is now patent pending. His focus supported him to accomplish what many of us just dream about.

In addition to leaving the world with his exquisite works of art, his TiePod, and his important lessons on friendship, he also leaves us the reminder to live life to the fullest, or as Tim McGraw says, Live Like You Were Dying”….

 We love you Cary.
